RCA is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Christ is restoring all things.

You were never meant to walk alone.

We believe every person who sits down with us bears the image of God. That is not a slogan for a website. It is why we take your suffering seriously, your story seriously, and your hope seriously.

Why we exist

Pastoral and clinical counseling were never meant to stand apart.

Too many people are asked to divide their healing from their faith. They find a counselor who understands the mind but not the soul. Or a pastor who understands the soul but was never trained for what they are carrying. That is the gap we were built to close.

We put pastoral and clinical counselors in one organization so that you do not have to choose. Clinical skill is deepened by spiritual wisdom. Pastoral care is sharpened by clinical understanding. We also train the next counselors, pastoral and clinical alike, so that more people get this and fewer people get sent away.

Two kinds of counseling, and everything else

We tell you which one you are getting.

Pillar One

Pastoral Counseling

Scripture, prayer, discipleship, and pastoral guidance. For grief, for marriage and family struggles, for anxiety and fear, for spiritual questions, and for the ordinary weight of a hard season.

Please know

These services are provided by pastoral counselors who are not licensed or registered by the State of California. You are free to seek licensed mental health care from other providers, and we will help you find it.

Ministry care. Not billed to insurance.

Pillar Two

Clinical Counseling

Professional mental-health counseling from licensed clinicians and from associates and trainees supervised by one. Same mission. Within the standards of their licenses.

Please know

You will always know which kind of care you are receiving. We put it in writing before you begin.

Out-of-network. Superbill on request.

Pillar Three

Ministry & Education

Chaplaincy, marriage and premarital ministry, courses and pastoral-care training, community teaching, and published resources.

Please know

Teaching is not treatment. Education here is education. It is not counseling, diagnosis, or treatment.

Fixed fees, set by the Board.

What it costs

The fee moves to meet you.

Your fee is set by household income and household size, on a scale our Board publishes. You can ask for a reduced fee at any time, out loud or in writing, at intake or partway through when things change.

There is a minimum fee, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you cannot meet even that, say so. On a documented hardship such as losing work, losing housing, a catastrophic medical bill, or the death or disability of someone who helped support your household, we can go below the scale or set the fee aside for a period.

Nobody is sent to collections for a fee they asked us to adjust. Asking will not slow your care down.

What you can hold us to

Accountability is how love stays honest over time.

You keep the wheel

We do not begin counseling with a predetermined outcome that we impose. Our counselors listen to your goals and work toward those goals. You remain free at every point to disagree with us and to decide what you will do with your own life.

We will be plain with you

Which kind of care you are getting, what it costs, and how your privacy works. In writing, before anything begins.

Nobody here practices alone

Pastoral counselors serve under pastoral oversight. Clinical counselors serve under the standards of their licenses and under supervision.

We will not promise you an outcome

Some of what you bring us will change. Some may not. We will promise presence, truthfulness, and confidentiality within limits we explain before you start.

Our beliefs shape what we teach and who ministers. They never decide whom we serve.

Whoever you are, whatever you carry, if we offer the care you are seeking, it is yours. Every person who comes to us will be met with kindness, gentleness, patience, and compassion.

We are also not a values-neutral practice. Every counselor brings a framework to the room. Ours is openly Christian. We say so here so that you can decide before you sit down with us, not after. If you would prefer care that does not proceed from a Christian framework, tell us and we will gladly help you find another qualified provider.

Philosophy of Care

This is who we intend to be.

We do not promise to tell you only what you want to hear. We do promise to tell you the truth gently, to honor your freedom, and to point you, as we try to point ourselves, toward the One in whom every broken thing is finally made whole.

You are loved. You are welcome. And there is hope.
